About Subtrop Lindsey Milne Bursary

The Lindsey Milne Bursary Scheme, funded by the SA Subtropical Growers' Association (Subtrop) and named in honour of Dr DL Milne's contributions to the subtropical fruit industry, supports students studying towards a BSc (Agric) degree, preferably majoring in Horticultural Science or Agricultural Economics, who wish to build a career in South Africa's avocado, mango and litchi industries. Successful recipients are required to work for Subtrop for one year for every year the bursary was awarded, provided a position is available, and must repay the bursary if they fail to pass their course.

Funding Details

Bursary value depends on each individual case and is reviewed annually. Awards are for one year at a time, with continuation dependent on satisfactory academic progress - a bursary in one year does not automatically carry over to the next.
