About Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education Sitfe Bursary
The Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education (SITFE), launched in 1965 and one of the oldest trust funds in South Africa, supports quality education in the country's sugarcane growing regions of KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. Over nearly six decades SITFE has funded bursaries for more than 10 200 students and financed school building projects across these provinces. Its bursary targets students from the "missing middle" income bracket studying agriculture at the sector's own specialist colleges.
Funding Details
SITFE awards a maximum of 41 full bursaries annually to qualifying students studying agriculture at its three named partner institutions.
