About Attorneys Fidelity Fund Bursary

The Attorneys Fidelity Fund Bursary - now run by the Legal Practitioners' Fidelity Fund (LPFF), the statutory fund's current name - funds tuition fees only for students already partway through an LLB, BCom Law or BA Law qualification at a recognised South African public university. It is not open to first-year students: applicants must already be entering at least their second year of study.

The LPFF exists under the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 to reimburse members of the public who suffer financial loss when a legal practitioner steals or misappropriates money or property held in trust. Funding law students' tuition through this bursary reflects the Fund's wider interest in the legal profession it protects the public against, supporting the pipeline of new legal practitioners entering the sector.
