North West

North West is best known for its platinum mining belt around Rustenburg and for farming. The funding on this page is smaller in number than in some other provinces, but it includes opportunities tied to the mines and communities of the region and to provincial and municipal programmes.

Where a listing prefers local applicants, you will usually need proof that you live in the named area, along with your ID, results and any income documents. Mining, engineering and metallurgy bursaries are common in this part of the country, so our mining category is also worth a look.
