ACTOM (Pty) Ltd is South Africa's largest manufacturer, solutions provider, repairer, and distributor of electro-mechanical equipment, with roots going back over a century. The black-empowered company employs around 7,500 people across more than 30 operating units, production facilities, and distribution outlets throughout Southern Africa, with an annual order intake in excess of R7.5 billion. ACTOM designs and manufactures motors, transformers, switchgear, and related electrical equipment for customers including Eskom's power stations and South Africa's mining and industrial sectors.
ACTOM (Pty) Ltd is not affiliated with AECOM, the US-headquartered global infrastructure consultancy - the two are separate companies with different ownership, history, and operations that happen to have similar-sounding names.
Through its Electrical Engineering Bursary, ACTOM funds final-year Electrical Engineering students, helping build a pipeline of qualified engineers for its operations and the wider electrical equipment sector.
