The Amandla Omoya Trust is a community trust holding shares in the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm in the Eastern Cape, formed in 2012 to build resilience and social cohesion in the surrounding communities of Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey, Patensie, and Thornhill.
Because the Trust's income comes from its ownership stake in the wind farm rather than a corporate marketing budget, its bursary is structured as broad community reinvestment - open to any field of study, including technical and vocational training, rather than restricted to energy-related qualifications.
There is no employment work-back requirement. The funding is determined case-by-case based on need and may cover tuition, registration, exam fees, and residence costs.
