About Kantey & Templer

Kantey & Templer, often called K&T, is a South African consulting engineering firm. Basil Kantey started it in 1953, and the head office is in Cape Town. Today the firm has eight offices, including Durban, Pietermaritzburg, East London, Gqeberha, George and Johannesburg, plus one in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. It employs close to 200 people.

The firm offers engineering, project management, construction management, investigation, quantity surveying and procurement services. Its work spans eight disciplines: electrical, environmental, geotechnical, mechanical, petrochemical, roads and transportation, structural, and urban development. K&T has worked in about 31 countries, mostly in Africa. It holds Level 1 B-BBEE status and ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification, and its engineers belong to professional bodies such as ECSA and SAICE.
