Northam Platinum Holdings is a JSE-listed South African producer of platinum group metals, operating mines including Zondereinde (Limpopo) and Booysendal (Mpumalanga), the latter held through its wholly-owned subsidiary Booysendal Platinum (Pty) Ltd. Booysendal is one of the newer, lower-cost, mechanised platinum operations in the Bushveld Complex.
Northam funds bursaries through its Booysendal operation to secure a pipeline of engineers, geologists, and mining engineers for a technically demanding mining environment, with a stated preference for candidates from the local communities surrounding the mine (Mashishing, Roossenekal, and Steelpoort).
