Its operations lie mainly along the West Coast near the Orange River mouth, where it works marine and land alluvial deposits. The group also has interests in Namibia and Angola.

What to know before applying

Applicants should be South African citizens or permanent residents. You must be studying, or planning to study, in one of the approved fields. Local students from the preferred towns get priority, though students from nearby areas may also apply.

Recent calls asked for a certified copy of your ID, your academic transcripts, proof of household income or financial need, and an acceptance letter from a recognised tertiary institution. Applications were sent by email, and incomplete submissions were not considered. As a result, it pays to gather every document before you hit send.
