About Two Rivers Platinum

Two Rivers Platinum is a platinum group metals mine on the farm Dwarsrivier. It lies on the southern part of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex, about 35 km south-west of Burgersfort in Limpopo. The mine is a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals (ARM), which holds 54%, and Impala Platinum, which holds 46%. ARM manages the operation.

Three on-reef decline shafts feed a concentrator plant that treats UG2 ore. A second concentrator is being built for the Merensky ore body. Output is sold to Impala Refining Services under a life-of-mine agreement. As a result, the mine is planning for long-term growth, and that growth needs skilled people.

How Two Rivers supports students

Two Rivers Platinum offers bursaries in fields that match its operations. Recent notices list electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining engineering and information technology. Mining companies find these skills hard to recruit, so funding students is a practical way to build a future workforce.
