UWP Consulting (Pty) Ltd is a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering practice that has operated in Southern Africa since 1972, making it one of the more established civil and infrastructure engineering firms in the region. From its Bryanston, Johannesburg base, the firm now runs around ten offices across South Africa plus operations in Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, employing roughly 250 professionals working across civil, structural, transportation, water and other infrastructure disciplines for both public and private sector clients.

Bursars receive financial support for a BSc Eng, BEng or BTech in civil engineering, or postgraduate study, combined with paid vacation work at UWP during university breaks and access to the firm's in-house Blueprint Programme, which helps young engineers work towards professional registration once they join the industry. This combination gives recipients genuine site and design-office exposure long before they graduate, and gives UWP the chance to assess and mentor future employees.
