About Shoprite Bursaries

The Shoprite Bursaries programme is funded by the Shoprite Group, South Africa's largest retailer. The programme offers around 90 bursaries each cycle across four fields: Chartered Accountancy, Biological and Agricultural Sciences, Retail Business Management, and Supply Chain and Logistics.

The bursary is aimed at students who are already enrolled and entering their second year of study or higher, rather than first-time entrants straight out of Matric.

Funding Details

The bursary prioritises tuition and books. Any surplus from a student's allocated bursary amount is paid out in monthly instalments, which can be used towards costs such as rental accommodation for students not living in campus residence.
