About SIOC-CDT Bursary
The SIOC-CDT Bursary funds tertiary study for young people from mining communities in the Northern Cape and Limpopo. SIOC Community Development Trust runs it, and applications for 2027 close at midday on 30 November 2026.
The trust wants local students to gain skills that help their families and home areas. So your address counts as much as your marks. Dux Powered by People Dynamics handles the applications for the trust, which is why the online form sits on its website.
Funding Details
The 2027 form does not list the benefits. Published copies of the advert say that the bursary covers tuition, accommodation, study materials, a once-off laptop and a monthly stipend. Treat that list as a guide until the trust confirms your award.
The form does not mention a work-back. If you receive an offer, read the agreement carefully and ask whether it sets any service or reporting conditions.
Only shortlisted candidates receive a call for an interview. So keep your phone and email active, because you must also send your final results to the trust by midday on 14 January 2027.
Where You Can Study
You need proof of acceptance, provisional acceptance or application at a recognised public institution of higher learning. The form refers to universities and TVET colleges. Private colleges do not fit this wording, so confirm your plans before you apply if you hope to study at one.

Fields of Study & Who Can Apply
You can apply if you are a South African citizen from Gasegonyana, Joe Morolong, Gamagara, Tsantsabane or Thabazimbi. The form also has an "Other" option for your area, but it lists these five first, so check with the trust if you live elsewhere.
Both learners and current students can apply. You may be in Grade 12 now, you may have finished school, or you may already study at a tertiary institution. The form also allows for full-time and part-time study, and it asks you to tell the trust about any disability.
The form does not limit you to one field. It asks which institution and qualification you have chosen, so ask the trust if you are unsure whether your course qualifies.
Parents' income counts in your application, and it must include both parents if they work. So gather their payslips or other proof early, along with three months of full bank statements.
Application Procedure
Apply through the online SIOC-CDT form, which the trust prefers. Alternatively, deliver a manual form to the SIOC-CDT Office Park on the corner of Hendrick Van Eck and Ian Flemming Road in Kathu, or to 11 Jourdan Street in Thabazimbi. Your application must arrive by 12:00 on 30 November 2026.
