Eligibility Requirements

  • Awarded a Deloitte training contract
  • Good academic performance
  • Financial need
  • A clear motivation
  • Studying at a SAICA-accredited institution

These criteria apply to every route, but the process differs for matric, undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. Read the timeline for your group on the Deloitte page, and apply in the window that fits you. Because the fund pays the institution directly, tell the funding team which SAICA-accredited institution you will attend. That detail helps Deloitte pay the right account on time.

Documents Needed

Deloitte's training contract process asks for an online profile and uploaded documents. These include your ID, proof of registration or a letter from your school, and your full academic record.

About Deloitte Financial Contribution Fund

The Deloitte Financial Contribution Fund helps students who want to become chartered accountants. Deloitte South Africa runs it for students who win a Deloitte training contract. It is not an open bursary for anyone, because you apply for the training contract first.

Deloitte lists separate timelines for matric, undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. When we checked on 6 November 2026, the matric and undergraduate windows had closed on 30 September 2026, but the postgraduate window was open all year.

Funding Details

The financial contribution pays for tuition and academic materials first. Any amount left over goes towards accommodation. Deloitte does not set one fixed amount, so what you receive depends on your results, motivation and need.

The contribution is renewable every year, based on your academic performance, for the full length of your undergraduate and postgraduate studies. So keep your marks up if you want the award to continue.

Because the money goes first to tuition and academic materials, you should still plan for living costs. If something is left over, it goes towards accommodation, so ask the funding team how it works out the balance. Keep every transcript and fee statement for your yearly renewal.

Where You Can Study

Deloitte pays the money directly to a SAICA-accredited institution. That is the university or college where you study towards the chartered accountancy qualification. If you study elsewhere, ask Deloitte whether the fund applies to you.

Fields of Study & Who Can Apply

You can apply for a financial contribution once Deloitte awards you a training contract. The amount depends on your academic performance, your motivation and your financial need. So both strong marks and a clear case for support count.

The fund serves three groups of students, and each has a different timeline.

  • Matric applicants: 1 June to 30 September 2026, for 2027 university funding
  • Undergraduate applicants: 1 June to 30 September 2026, for 2026 and 2027 funding
  • PGDA and CTA applicants: open throughout the year

Most students find that the training contract decides everything, because the contribution follows it. Deloitte's process includes an assessment centre, so read the steps on its page before your date. Prepare a short motivation that explains why you want to qualify as a chartered accountant.

Application Procedure
