About Ivanplats Bursary
The Ivanplats Bursary is funded by Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, the Ivanhoe Mines subsidiary developing the Platreef platinum-group metals project near Mokopane in Limpopo. The programme is aimed specifically at Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) from communities surrounding the Platreef operations, supporting qualifications relevant to the mine's future workforce needs.
Eligible fields include Mining, Engineering, Mine Survey, Environmental Studies and Geology, along with a limited number of non-technical qualifications linked to mine operations. Recipients can be funded for up to four years of undergraduate study, with support that goes beyond tuition to include accommodation, learning materials and workplace exposure at the Platreef site.
