About South African Actuaries Development Programme Bursary

The South African Actuaries Development Programme (SAADP) Bursary, housed at Wits and run by the South African Actuaries Development Programme, funds Matric students entering first-year Actuarial Science and current Actuarial Science students at Wits, UCT, or UP.

Unlike most bursaries on this list, SAADP applications open extremely early - from 2 March - and stay open for seven months until 30 September. There's no advantage to waiting: applying as early as March, right when the portal opens, means your application is reviewed before the volume of late submissions builds up closer to the deadline.

Funding Details

This is a full-cost bursary covering tuition, residence, meals, a living allowance, and textbooks, plus mentorship and academic support, and is renewable pending satisfactory academic performance.

Where You Can Study

Only three universities qualify: the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), the University of Cape Town (UCT), and the University of Pretoria (UP) - no other institution is covered by this specific programme.
