About Tharisa Bursary
Tharisa Minerals offers an annual bursary programme for South African students pursuing undergraduate qualifications in mining-related fields, funded through the company's Social and Labour Plan at its Tharisa Mine near Marikana, North West province.
The bursary covers full tuition fees, university accommodation, prescribed textbooks and a monthly allowance for the duration of the qualification. Recipients complete vacation work at the mine each year of study and, after graduating, at least one year as a graduate intern with Tharisa. Preference is given to applicants from communities around Tharisa's operations and other labour-sending areas.
