About Tirisano Construction Fund Bursary
The Tirisano Construction Fund Bursary is administered by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) on behalf of the Tirisano Construction Fund, a socio-economic development trust set up under the 2016 Voluntary Rebuilding Programme settlement between government and seven major JSE-listed construction companies - Aveng, Basil Read, Group Five, Murray & Roberts, Raubex, Stefanutti Stocks and WBHO. It funds South African students pursuing built environment qualifications.
This bursary's provider record on this site was previously linked to Tiber Construction, a private construction company based in Kramerville, Sandton. Tiber Construction is not one of the seven companies behind the Tirisano Construction Fund and does not appear to have any connection to it - the two are unrelated South African construction-sector entities that happen to share a similar-sounding name. This page has been corrected to link to a dedicated Tirisano Construction Fund provider record instead.
Funding Details
Successful applicants receive financial support for their qualification's tuition and related study costs for the duration of the course, in line with the Fund's annual bursary guidelines. The exact package (which can include costs such as accommodation or study materials in a given year) is confirmed in each year's bursary offer and should be checked on the IDC bursary portal.
Where You Can Study
The bursary supports study at accredited South African public universities and universities of technology offering built environment qualifications, rather than a fixed list of institutions.
