Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ELIDZ bursary open for 2027?

ELIDZ had not published 2027 intake dates as of August 2026. The most recently confirmed cycle was for 2026, which closed on 30 January 2026. Check elidz.co.za for the next call for applications, which is typically published in the second half of the preceding year.

Does the bursary cover Mathematical Literacy students?

No. The 60% Mathematics requirement specifically refers to pure Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy.

Do I need to already be at university to apply?

No — the bursary is aimed at matriculants who have been accepted (firmly or provisionally) to start an undergraduate qualification, rather than students already partway through their studies.
