Stellenbosch University Student Portal

Reviewed by Makona Mandla · Last checked 5 November 2026

Stellenbosch University (SU) uses an online applicant portal for applications, offers and contracts, and an SU Service Desk portal for student queries. Once registered, you manage your student fees account and administration online too. The guidance below comes from SU's application and funding pages and its student fees yearbook.

The applicant portal

When you apply, you create an online profile with your email address and phone number. Your applicant portal then shows:

  • Your document status, for every supporting document you upload
  • Your application status for each programme
  • All application communication, which SU also emails to you
  • Your offers, and the option to accept one
  • The upload for your signed Student Contract

Accepting an offer on the portal

You can accept only one offer at a time, which makes it your active offer. If you accept a second or third offer, it replaces the previous one. You cannot accept an offer until SU has received your signed Student Contract, which you upload only once.

The SU Service Desk portal

For questions that the website does not answer, log a ticket on the SU Service Desk portal. For funding questions, navigate to Student Finances and choose the right query type. Include your application number or student number in every query.

Funding applications online

After you accept a conditional or final offer, the Centre for Undergraduate Bursaries and Loans emails you details on how to apply for SU Funding Opportunities. All applications are online, and you upload clearly labelled PDF documents.

Your student fees account

Awards, bursaries and payments are credited to your student fees account. If you apply for SU's early payment rebate, the 3% is shown as a credit on the account, not paid out. Email forms for the rebate to studentaccounts@sun.ac.za.

Applicants on other curricula

If you follow an international curriculum, SU prompts you on the portal to upload your final results as soon as you receive them, so that it can consider you for a final offer.

Check your email

SU sends application and status updates to the email address you applied with. Continuously check both your email and your portal, so that you can respond quickly to any document request.

Keep your profile accurate

State correctly whether you were previously registered at any tertiary institution. Incorrect information can lead to the cancellation of your application, admission or registration.
