The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) publishes a 2027 Undergraduate Prospectus and an online prospectus for each faculty. CPUT says its prospectus is a valuable resource with information on programmes, admission criteria and study opportunities. Here is what they contain and how to use them.
The 2027 Undergraduate Prospectus
The prospectus booklet holds the admission requirements for all undergraduate programmes, and it is linked from CPUT's Apply to Study page, alongside a list of 2027 undergraduate qualifications and the student rules.
The online prospectus
CPUT's online prospectus has a section for each faculty:
- Applied Sciences
- Business and Management Sciences
- Education
- Engineering and the Built Environment
- Health and Wellness Sciences
- Informatics and Design
For each programme, it shows the subjects you need to complete, the admission requirements and the estimated cost. You can prepare a fee quote for a programme, though CPUT notes the listed fees are for 2026 and may change for 2027.
Admission requirements on the online prospectus
Each course page gives the NSC requirements, often with an APS and the method used to calculate it, such as Method 2, which doubles Mathematics and Physical Sciences. It also lists requirements for the National Certificate (NC) and NC(V), and notes for extended curriculum programmes.
How to use CPUT's prospectus
- Choose up to three programmes in the prospectus or online prospectus.
- Check each programme's subject levels, APS method and campus.
- Prepare the documents on CPUT's detailed list.
- Apply online, for free, before your programme's closing date.
Closing dates
For 2027, most programmes closed on 30 September 2026 for South Africans, with earlier dates for some health programmes, BEd degrees and others, from 30 June to 31 August 2026.
What else to check
- CPUT does not offer distance learning, so programmes are on campus, sometimes with blended learning.
- Applicants may apply for up to three programmes in one cycle.
- Some courses require extra information, such as a portfolio, as part of the application.
- CPUT's general admission requirements apply to all certificate and diploma applications.
Campus information
CPUT's list of programmes shows the campus where each is offered, such as Bellville, District Six, Mowbray or Wellington.
HEQSF changes
CPUT's course pages note that admission requirements may differ between an existing qualification and its newer HEQSF-aligned version, and that CPUT may change published details if circumstances require.
Exemptions and recognition
CPUT also provides an Application for Exemption and Recognition form, for applicants who studied elsewhere.
