Univen Student Portal (MyAccess)

Reviewed by Makona Mandla · Last checked 5 November 2026

Students at the University of Venda (Univen) use MyAccess, the student portal, for account services such as online payments and refund requests, and the iEnabler for returning student processes. The guidance below comes from Univen's 2026 fees booklet and its how to apply page.

Logging in to MyAccess

Log in to MyAccess with your student number and PIN. You receive your student number after you submit your application, and you create your 5-digit PIN while applying.

Paying fees online

You can pay your account online through the MyGate system on MyAccess:

  1. Log in to MyAccess with your student number and PIN.
  2. Click MyGate Online Payment.
  3. Click Process Online Payment.
  4. Enter the amount.
  5. Click Pay Now to continue the transaction.

You need a credit card number, cardholder name, expiry date and CVV. Only Visa and MasterCard credit cards are accepted.

Requesting a refund

Refund requests must be made online on the MyAccess student portal. Self-funded and sponsor fees are refunded only if your account is in credit.

Other ways to pay

  • Maestro debit cards at all payment points, using your ATM PIN
  • Monthly debit orders arranged by parents or guardians with their banks
  • Deposits at any ABSA branch, or EFT, using your correct student number

Univen is not responsible for depositors' errors, so double-check the student number and bank details.

The iEnabler

Returning students use the iEnabler process to continue their studies, following the instructions on Univen's website.

Check your account often

Univen asks students to check their accounts regularly, because accounts may be debited with library fines, student health charges, residence damage costs and residence key deposits.

Transcripts and certificates

Univen issues a transcript of your academic record only once all fees are paid, and students with outstanding fees, fines or dues do not receive their degrees, diplomas or certificates. Keep your account clear through MyAccess.

Sponsors paying online

If a sponsor pays for several students in one batch, it must include each student's full name, amount and student number in the remittance advice. Without these, your account cannot be credited.

Free internet

Univen offers free internet access throughout the campus for students, staff and guests.

Keep your PIN safe

Never share your PIN or student number with anyone, and keep your cellphone number and email up to date for messages about your application and account.

For account and payment enquiries, call Student Debtors on 015 962 8467 or 015 962 8957, or email studentfinancesupport@univen.ac.za. See the Univen application status page, or read the Univen overview.
