Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga is known for coal mining and power generation, forestry and farming, and the funding listed here includes many community bursaries linked to mines and industrial operations, as well as provincial and municipal programmes. The University of Mpumalanga and the province's TVET colleges are also part of the picture for local students.

Several opportunities give preference to residents of the municipalities where an operation is based, so check which areas a listing names. Typical requirements are a South African ID, proof of residence, recent results and, for need-based awards, proof of household income. Technical fields such as engineering, mining and electrical trades are well represented. See our engineering funding guide for more.
