University of Mpumalanga Student Portal (iEnabler)

Reviewed by Makona Mandla · Last checked 5 November 2026

Students at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) use the iEnabler student portal for applications, registration, document uploads and payments. The guidance below comes from UMP's online application steps, its registration information and its 2026 fees handbook.

Logging in

You log in with your student number and the 5-digit PIN you created when you applied. After you create your PIN, you are taken to the application portal, where you accept the POPI Act notice and the application rules.

Registering online

Admitted new and returning students in a fixed curriculum programme may register online from home, using a phone or a computer. To register online, new South African students need to:

  • Pay the minimum initial deposit and be financially cleared
  • Upload their ID, matric or senior certificate and any academic record with a statement of conduct under Certificates Seen
  • Have an admission letter confirming a firm offer

Paying fees

Pay tuition, residence and other fees through the PayGate Online Payment option on the left-hand menu of your iEnabler profile. Authenticate card payments with the one-time PIN your bank sends by SMS or banking app. Use your 9-digit student number as the reference for registration, tuition and residence payments.

In-person registration

If you struggle online, UMP also offers in-person registration on campus. In 2026, it ran from 26 to 30 January for first-years.

Updating your details

If you change your cellphone number, update it on the portal straight away. UMP strongly advises using your UMP student email address for correspondence.

Your student card

After registering, collect your student card from the Security Service Office on your campus, and bring your proof of registration. UMP's fees handbook lists R213.08 for a replacement student card.

Timetables

Your lecture timetable is on UMP's Celcat calendar, which you can reach from the registration information page.

Applying on the portal

The same system handles applications. You capture your biographical, address, contact and school details, upload documents, add up to two academic applications and a residence application, and finish when progress shows 100%.

Other charges

UMP also charges small administrative fees, such as R50.95 for a proof of registration and R54.59 for a duplicate transcript, so download, print and save your own copies whenever you can.

Getting help

Contact the call centre on 013 002 0047 or 013 002 0050, or email studentapplications@ump.ac.za. You can also come to campus during your registration week for help. See the UMP application status page, or read the University of Mpumalanga overview.
