University of Limpopo Application Status

Reviewed by Makona Mandla · Last checked 5 November 2026

The University of Limpopo (UL) runs its registration and selection processes online. It allocates each applicant a status, which you can view online, and it contacts applicants by email or SMS. The guidance below comes from UL's registration information for first-entering students and its self-help portal.

Check online, not on campus

UL asks applicants not to visit the university to verify their status or submit final results. Final results are captured automatically from the Department of Basic Education. Use the Check Application Status option on the UL website, or log in to the self-help iEnabler with your student number and PIN.

What the statuses mean

  • Accepted: you have been accepted for the degree you applied for. Log in and register as soon as possible, because space is limited. If you do not accept the offer, inform UL as soon as possible.
  • Waiting list (WL): UL will decide as soon as possible whether you are fully admitted. These decisions often depend on space during registration, and UL sends you an SMS with the outcome.
  • No space (NS): you qualify for the programme, but all available seats have been filled.
  • Conditionally admitted pending test outcome (BP): you qualify conditionally, pending an extra admission evaluation that some programmes require.
  • Unsuccessful: you do not meet the minimum admission requirements or selection criteria.

How waiting list places are filled

If places become available, UL may fill them by ranking applicants who have not yet been admitted, according to their academic performance in all programmes they took at UL and elsewhere.

Your PIN

The self-help iEnabler uses your student number and a 5-digit numeric PIN that does not start with 0. If you forget your PIN, enter your student number and request it, and it is sent to your email.

Keep your contact details current

UL contacts applicants by email or SMS, so keep your details up to date. UL also warns that it will never ask for your PIN or financial details. Never share your login details, passwords, one-time PINs or PINs with anyone.

Registering

Registration is online only. Once accepted, log in and register as soon as possible. Self-funded students must make the advance payment before registering.

If your offer is not accepted in time

Space is limited, so register quickly once accepted. If you decide not to take up your place, tell UL, so that the space can go to someone on the waiting list.

Getting help

For registration help, call the UL call centre on 015 268 3332 during office hours, or email enrolment@ul.ac.za. See the UL student portal page.
