Students at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) use the Student iEnabler for registration and administration, a student email account for official communication, and Blackboard for online learning. The guidance below comes from MUT's student portal and registration pages and its fees handbook.
Logging in to the iEnabler
Go to the MUT website, open the Student Portal and click Student iEnabler. Enter your student number and your PIN, which has five digits and cannot start with 0. New students receive a default PIN, and MUT's registration guide explains it. Change it after your first login.
Registering online
- Log in and click Registration on the left.
- Read the rules and click I Accept.
- Click Submit Registration, and choose your employment status.
- Select all the subjects you are eligible for, then click Save and Continue.
- Click Accept Registration to complete your registration.
- Click Proof of Registration to download it.
Students who are financially cleared can register from anywhere, without coming to campus.
Residence applications
You also apply for residence through the portal, after completing your academic registration.
Your fee statement
To see your statement on iEnabler, click Student Enquiry, then Summarised Statement of Account, then Fee. MUT also sends fee balances by SMS every month.
Your student email
MUT's student email is the preferred medium of official communication. Your address is your student number followed by the MUT live domain, and MUT's portal page explains your default password. Log in through Outlook.
Blackboard
Use your student number as your Blackboard username. Training on how to use Blackboard is available under BB support for students in your course list.
Getting help
If you forget your PIN, cannot access the system or need help using it, contact MUT's IT and Networks service desk on 031 907 7349 or servicedesksupport@mut.ac.za. MUT also publishes self-service tutorials.
Funding queries
For NSFAS, bursary, refund and allowance questions, email the Financial Aid Office at enquiriesfao@mut.ac.za.
Student support
MUT's student counselling unit, within Student Affairs, supports students' well-being alongside their studies, and the library offers its own online resources.
Bank statements and documents
Send bank statements and certified ID copies for funding purposes to statements@mut.ac.za, and always include your student number.
Keep your details safe
Change your default PIN and password as soon as you can, never share them with anyone, and keep your contact details current.
