Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) publishes a year calendar each January that lists registration, lectures, examinations and results dates. Each calendar states that it is valid for its own year only. When we checked on 5 November 2026, MUT had not yet published a 2027 calendar, and the latest one on its website was for 2026. This page shows what MUT has confirmed for 2027 and uses its 2026 calendar as a guide to the usual pattern.
What MUT has confirmed for 2027
- Selection of 2027 candidates still in matric: 28 September to 23 October 2026
- Selection of 2027 candidates who already have matric: 1 October to 4 December 2026
- Application deadline: MUT's admission pages say applications close on 30 September, with late applications accepted until 30 November. Some faculties set earlier dates.

- University opens: 5 January 2026 for support staff

How to read this
MUT's lectures began on 2 February in 2026, a little earlier than at several other universities. In 2026 new students registered from 19 January and lectures began in the first week of February. If the same pattern holds, you should expect registration for 2027 to start in the second half of January and lectures to begin around the start of February. That is a forecast, not a confirmed date, so wait for the official calendar.
When to expect the 2027 calendar
MUT posted its 2026 calendar to the website in December 2025, and a second copy followed in January 2026. If it follows the same timing, the 2027 calendar should appear between December 2026 and January 2027. MUT also publishes a general information and rules handbook each year, and the calendar sits inside it, so the handbook is another place to look.
What to do while you wait
- Follow the instructions in your offer letter, because MUT will tell offered students when and how to register.
- Prepare your registration documents and proof of funding early.
- Watch the MUT website and student portal for the 2027 calendar, which MUT usually publishes around the start of the year.
- Do not pay anyone for registration or accommodation unless the payment goes through MUT's official channels.
